MSc Pia Schmid was awarded with the 2017 student prize of the Competence Network Wood Utilization (NHN e.V:) for her master thesis elaborated at the TUM Research Lab Wood and the Study Program Division Forest Science and Resource Management TUM School for Forestry and Ressourcemanagement. The thesis was titled: Influence of climate conditions (moisture, temperature) on the shear strength load testing of adhesive timber joints.
This award aims to give incentives for an applied research and a cooperation between academia, industry and practice in the field of forestry and wood. The prize acknowledges high level student theses focusing on increasing wood utilization in foresty of wood research disciplines.
Actually the prize committee selected two equally outstanding wood research theses for the award which comes with a prize money of 1000 € each.
