More awareness of biodiversity in the city of Freising
Research into nature conservation and biodiversity has been conducted at the Weihenstephan Campus for decades. The Green Office aims to raise awareness of these topics not only among fellow students and colleagues, but also among people without specialist knowledge, and to make it clear that scientists, students, initiatives and organizations in Freising are making a positive contribution to nature conservation.
In addition to excursions about mosses, flowering plants, trees, fungi, birds and insects, workshops on nature journaling and exciting lectures on the reintroduction of endangered animal species, a photo competition on the topic of 'Biodiversity through the lens' (February 10 - April 21) will take place. During Biodiversity Week, the best photos will be exhibited in the Central Lecture Hall Building. The competition is not only aimed at students, but also at school pupils and other interested parties in Freising and the surrounding area who would like to get involved in the topic.
