Studying Food Technology at TUM in Weihenstephan or would you prefer Nutrition Sciences? Is Biology or Molecular Biotechnology a better choice? And what exactly is Pharmaceutical Bioprocess Engineering? At the TUM Open Campus, high school graduates can get a closer look at nine Bachelor's degree programs. Brewing is also included, this degree program leads to the Master Brewer ('Diplom-Braumeister').
Many degree courses will be presented in their own information events, as well as special lectures. In the case of Forest Sciences, you will learn that the concept of sustainability originally comes from forest management. Some chairs offer guided tours and show laboratories or the research bakery, while at the Moosach is about aquaculture and invasive species. Others demonstrate how DNA is extracted from zucchinis or how alternative protein sources can be produced - for example from hemp press cake. The chair of Landscape Architecture and Landscape Planning will be presenting an exhibition of current theses.
In the central lecture hall building, there will be information booths for all degree programs at TUM Weihenstephan and other university institutions. At its stand, the Studierendenwerk will provide information about BAföG and study financing, among other things, and the general student advisory service will also be available throughout the afternoon.
The TUM Open Campus also takes place at the other locations of the Technical University: It kicks off on March 14 at the Weihenstephan campus, continues on March 21 at TUM in Munich in the city center and on March 28 in Garching and Straubing.
Registration is required for many of the events. All details and the exact program can be found at www.tum.de/opencampus. Together, the four TUM locations offer more than 100 events to give prospective students a lively impression of studying and campus life at TUM - and to make it easier for them to choose a program of study.
Anyone who has already made a choice can apply by July 15 for a place of study with admission restrictions for the coming winter semester. For all other courses, applications can be submitted until September 15.
