In the fight against germs and pathogens - TUM founds Center for Infection Prevention (ZIP)

Bacterial pathogens are increasingly showing resistance to antibiotics. But how can we treat such germs and prevent their spread? At the Center for Infection Prevention (ZIP) at the Technical University of Munich (TUM), which was founded in May 2023, scientists are researching new strategies to contain resistant pathogens and to be able to combat them in the event of an infection.

Prof. Zehn and his research colleagues work in five competence teams on the topics of microbiome, microbiology, immunology, technology and translation. The leading professors of the TUM School of Life Sciences are Prof. Dietmar Zehn, Prof. Percy Knolle, Prof. Li Deng, Prof. Bernhard Küster und Prof. Benjamin Schusser.

On 11 July, the foundation stone will also be laid for a new building that will then enable scientists to work under one roof.
