Dean Prof. Ingrid Kögel-Knabner said: "We are dealing with urgent questions for society. For example, how can we preserve biodiversity despite climate change and at the same time support economic and sustainable development in poorer countries? And how can we ensure food security for a growing world population? Students who study with us are ideally prepared for a career in research institutions, start-ups and companies that want to tackle the complex challenges in the agricultural sector."
Selected agricultural degree programs
Particularly noteworthy is the newly designed international Master's degree course in “AgriFood Economics, Policy and Regulation”, for which over 100 applicants applied in the first year, more than twice as many as could be admitted.
The international Master's degree course in “Agricultural Biosciences”, which was introduced in the winter semester 2020/2021 and designed for 30 students, has developed very positively. 84 applicants are competing for the available places this year.
With an increase of over 20 percent in applications for the Master's degree course in “Agrosystem Sciences” compared to the previous year, it is once again clear that Bachelor's graduates from the agricultural sector are very interested in deepening their knowledge at TUM in Freising.
Demand for the Bachelor's degree course in “Agricultural and Horticultural Sciences” has also increased in recent years, with more than 160 new students enrolling in the winter semester 2023/24. The current application period runs until September 15. Prospective students can find out more about the Bachelor's degree course in an online info session on 04.07.2024.
