How do I use the TUMonline applicant portal?
The online application is the first step when applying for a degree program at TUM. For all degree programs you use the application portal TUMonline: create an applicant account and let the electronic assistant guide you through the online application step by step.
Upload the documents required for admission during the online application. Once you have completed your online application, you can check the status of your application in TUMonline at any time.
If you have been admitted, you must still submit the application documents (certified copies etc.) in paper-based form by mail. Enrollment can only take place after all required documents have been submitted and the tuition fees have been paid.
You can find more information about the online application as well as frequently asked questions and answers on the central application pages of TUM:
Fraudulent Application Agencies
We are currently receiving an increasing number of reports of fraudulent activities in connection with applications to TUM. On this occasion, we would like to point out once again that the Technical University of Munich
- does not cooperate with agencies. To study at TUM, you should only apply directly to the university.
- never requests payments to agencies during the application process.
- only sends e-mails from official e-mail addresses: @tum.de, @zv.tum.de or @mytum.de.
- never requests payments of any kind before admission to the program has been granted. If you require a VPD by uni-assist, you will have to pay a processing fee to uni-assist. However, uni-assist will only check certain documents and not issue admission statements or similar.
- always makes notifications or other official documents available via the online portal TUMonline.
